LLc Triumph Again!

Neath College 0 vs 14 London Leisure College

The team made a five hour journey to South Wales to play one of the top rugby playing Colleges. We had to delay kick off due to traffic getting out of London and didn’t arrive at the ground until 2.15pm. With a brief warm up and a quick team run through the sides were kicking off.

Surprisingly the boys showed no signs of fatigue from the journey and were very dominant over a big Neath side. After only five minutes Peter Squires sidestepped his way through the Welsh defence to score a good try. LLC continued to apply the pressure and it was only because of some strong defence and some basic errors that the line wasn’t crossed again in the first half.

The second half produced the weather that everyone had been expecting. The heavens opened and didn’t allow the game to develop the way it could have. With the game now littered with knock on’s and mistakes, it became a kicking battle for territory with neither team really looking like scoring. It wasn’t until the last 10 minutes that LLC’s dominance showed, and a late push over try was scored under the floodlights of The Gnoll with the last play of the game. Lee Covington appeared from the bottom of the pile with the ball.

This is LLC’s second victory in the British College’s League. Their next fixture against Truro in January will play a huge part in deciding the overall winners of this league.

Good luck with the remaining games and well done again for another strong performance.
