Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence
The Charlton home game against league leaders Watford was an opportunity for some of last year’s students and Charlton Academy players to celebrate their footballing achievements. Kim Dixon, Jay Blackie, Chelsea Fowler, Charmaine Benjamin and Nina Boorman have all achieved their Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) at London Leisure College and in conjunction with Premiere League Learning.
They were the first girls ever in the country to receive the qualification for ladies football. It is a great advert for the talent of the girls and the hard work they put in to improve their game and strive for excellence in their sport. The Charlton academy has been rescued by the Charlton Community Scheme and everyone involved has worked very hard to keep it alive. We are putting the academy girls based at London Leisure College into the AASE program again. Hopefully in the near future we can be celebrating more of our top sportswomen achieving the award.
