Emergency first aid for the Appointed Person

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

Emergency First Aid for the Appointed Person is intended to provide basic first aid for any employee. It will provide the necessary qualification to support the dedicated First Aider or act as the Appointed Person in the workplace.

ARE THERE ANY PRE-REQUISITES?

  • Candidates must be 16 years or older at the start of the course

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

The Appointed Persons First Aid is approved by the Health and Safety Executive and the course syllabus covers:

  • What to do in an emergency
  • CPR
  • First aid for the unconscious casualty
  • First aid for the wounded or bleeding
  • First aid equipment
  • Employers risk assessment of first aid needs

In addition to these requirements, the course at London Leisure College also covers:

  • Heart Attack
  • Bleeding control and wound recognition
  • Asphyxia
  • Diabetes
  • Seizures

HOW IS THE COURSE STRUCTURED?

The course is delivered over one day and includes 7 hours of training/assessment.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

This course is full cost and the fee for the course depends on who is paying.

  • If you are paying the fee yourself you are designated as an ‘Individual’.
  • If your employer is paying your fee then you will be designated ‘Employer’.

If you wish to pay your fee by cheque, please make it payable to "Greenwich Leisure Limited".

You must write the following three pieces of information on the back of the cheque and enclose it with your application form:

  • Name of the course
  •  Dates of the course
  • The name of the person taking the course

We will then send you confirmation of your place, payment and directions to the training venue.

 

Please note: Your place is not confirmed on a course until full payment is received and you have been sent confirmation details. Minimum numbers are required for the course to run and dates/venues may be subject to change.
