- Units 4 & 5. These two units focus on Teaching Aquatics covering a range of technical knowledge and practical skills that will qualify the teacher to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of consecutive sessions within the context of a self prepared scheme of work.
- Unit 6 this unit is discipline specific and enables aquatic teachers to demonstrate various specific competencies already assessed in Units 1 - 5. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to plan, deliver and evaluate a minimum of 5 progressive sessions (30 minutes minimum duration each) to the same group of participants to introduce and improve performance of which 2 will be summatively assessed.

VOCATIONAL PLACEMENT
- The ASA have a Vocational Placement system for completing the Unit 6. Basically, you shadow a local swimming teacher (expert witness) for 5 sessions, who will evaluate your teaching performance. We will link you to a suitable expert witness, based on your availability to teach lessons. This system will give you the opportunity to get some real life teaching practice and be part of actual swimming lessons. Once you've completed the 5 sessions and the paperwork has all been finalised, the tutor on your original course will sign off your portfolio of evidence and your results will be sent to the ASA
