BACKGROUND

London Leisure College, first developed 10 years ago as a partnership between Greenwich Community College (GCC), the leading further education provider in Greenwich, and Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL), London leading Leisure Trust and the 2004 UK Social Enterprise of the year. We developed our first base at the Valley, home of Charlton Athletic Football Club, as part of a partnership bid with the club to secure European funding to develop the North Stand.

We have continued our successful growth across London opening additional delivery centres at Crystal Palace and Eltham in 2007, and continue to expand the number and range of partnerships with industry employers, colleges and training providers every year.

DEVELOPMENT

We are proud to be leading the London Region bid with our industry Sector Skills Council SkillsActive, to become the National Skills Academy for sport and leisure, creating new partnerships, sharing and spreading excellence, and continuing to lead the field in improving both the standards and quality of vocational education and training across this growth industry.

CONNECTIONS

LLC is working with a number of organisations, including the five Olympic Boroughs, to develop the training plan that will help to deliver both our Olympic and Paralympic Games aspirations and also the legacy opportunities arising from the new facilities and hosting of the Games.
